The Foreign Commonwealth office has advised against ‘all but essential travel’ to Tunisia as another terrorist attack is ‘highly likely’.
Between 2,500 and 3,000 holiday makers are planned to be evacuated by Travel Agents and Tour Operators within the next 48 hours; as they try to get in touch with third party airlines.
Tunisia is currently on high alert as terrorists are still believed to be in the country. Armed security now ride on buses as tourist feel ‘disappointed and afraid’ leaving them with no option but to leave.
Thomas Cook like many travel providers have cancelled all flights to Tunisia until the summer season ends. If you are affected by this change in advice, we highly recommend that you contact your travel agent or operator to change your holiday destination or get a refund before cancelling or curtailing your trip. For clients who are currently in Tunisia you must contact your travel provider or rep to arrange homeward travel if they have not contacted you already. Most travel operators have promised to return all of their clients within the next 48 hours.
